Faculty of Theology Information Package Definitions

The Divinity Faculty of Süleyman Demirel University was established by the law numberred 3837 and dated 30/07/1992. With the founding of the law, it became operational in the field on the 25th of February1993. The Divinity Faculty includes three departments named the Basic Islamic Sciences, Philosophy and Religious Studies and Islamic History and Arts. However, these departments are departmental divisions because of academic and administrative structure at the undergraduate-level. Accordingly, all students are instructed in the same undergraduate teaching programme. In 1998, as a result of removal of predominantly Arabic and Quran courses in the preparatory class, the Divinity Faculty began to start a programme of 4-year normal theology degree. With the integration of the process of the European Union, during the 2007-2008 academic year the optional English preparatory class education was adopted. However, from the academic term of 2012-2013 Department of Religious Culture and Ethical Knowledge was openned and it started to enroll students as well. Graduate and doctoral studies in all faculty departments are given.
