Faculty of Technical Education Information Package Definitions
Faculty of Technical Education (FTE) at Suleyman Demirel University (SDU) was established in 1994 and is located in the West campus. Since its foundation, FTE has been rapidly developing in terms of physical properties, laboratories with technological equipments, academic personnel, teaching and research. The primary aims of the faculty are to train qualified prospective technical teachers that will be working at vocational or technical education institutions and conduct both national and international innovative research projects. In addition, FTE serves technical person needs of the society since graduates have the opportunity to find various job positions in relevant public and private industrial sectors. Approximately one-third of the students studying at the FTE come from vocational and technical high school since graduates of these high schools are given additional points in addition to their National University Entrance Exam scores upon applying for admission to FTE programs. Recently, laboratories, ateliers and curriculum of FTE departments have been improved through the Modernization of Vocational and Technical Education Project. In accordance with Erasmus Lifelong Learning Program, our students may complete a part of their study at the European Union countries. The faculty offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs as outlined below. Undergraduate Programs (Bachelor’s Degree): Construction Education, Construction Design Education, Computer Systems Education, Computer and Control Education, Installation Education, Automotive Education, Design-Construction Education, Mecathronics Education. Graduate Programs (Master’s Degree): Construction Education, Electronic and Computer Education, Mechanical Education, Educational Technologies.
