About Programme
Süleyman Demirel University Mining Engineering Undergraduate Program aims to provide students with a wide range of knowledge based on mathematics, science and engineering. The program aims to train competent individuals in the sustainable exploration, operation and management of mineral resources. While students are equipped with theoretical knowledge, they gain practical experience through laboratory and field applications. In addition, the use of modern techniques in engineering projects is taught and values ??such as professional ethics and environmental awareness are emphasized.

History
The Mining Engineering Department was established and started a curriculum in 1987, as part of Isparta Faculty of Engineering of the Mediterranean University based in Antalya. With the establishment of Süleyman Demirel University in 1992 in Isparta, the department became a part of the Faculty of Engineering of the new university; and later with restructuring, has been conducting teaching and research as a department of Faculty of Engineering. Although the department started with limited number of teaching/research staff and limited laboratory facilities at the start, it has managed to emerge with a top-level teaching staff and very good laboratories over time. Having its first graduates in 1990-1991, the department has more than 1000 BSc., 100 MSc., and 20 PhD degree students so far.
Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive a "Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering".
Admission Requirements
Admission to the program is based on high school diploma and Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) results. Additional conditions may apply in accordance with the relevant regulations and guidelines of the university.
Higher Grade Transition
Graduates can apply to master's and doctoral programs in engineering and related sciences.
Graduation Requirements
For graduation:
• Completion of a total of 240 ECTS credits consisting of compulsory and elective courses,
• Success in all courses
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Mining Engineering Undergraduate Program graduates:
1. Work in mining exploration and operation companies.
2. Take part in environmental impact assessment projects.
3. Work as a responsible engineer in underground and open pit mining operations.
4. Work in various engineering consultancy firms.
5. Build an academic career in universities.
6. Provide engineering services in public institutions.
7. Take part in research and development projects in the oil and natural gas sector.
Assessment and Grading
The examination and evaluation methods of the courses in the program are determined by the relevant faculty members and explained in detail in the course information package. All examination and evaluation processes are carried out in accordance with the university's education-training regulations.
