About Programme

The Accounting and Financial Management Ms program presented by the management science discipline, by offering a deep understanding in accounting and finance, intends to cultivate young individuals capable to think analytically and solve some institutional problems with a wider point of view. By considering the conjoint infrastructure between accounting and finance the program offers both theory and practice about accounting and finance. Regarding about the tendency of choosing between studying accounting or finance both courses are offered in a well-balanced curriculum. The program also offers a possibility either to write a thesis or not. The students have the right to choose between these possibilities. If the student prefers to prepare a thesis, with the help of the academic advisor, he/she should have to decide whether choosing between accounting or finance within the third and fourth semester. The thesis studies should have to be presented to a jury.

History
As a young and dynamic higher education and training institution on the national development path, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, which is within the body of Süleyman Demirel University, was established in 1992 and became operational on February 25, 1993. In the 1993-1994 academic year, the Department of Business Administration started education. In 1997, the department had its first graduates.
Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration, as in the same type of Faculties in our country; It aims to educate people who are useful to the society and to increase their knowledge and skill level. For this purpose, it has been taken into account that students gain knowledge and skills in a wide-ranging field of social science, in which they can improve themselves and specialize in various subjects, and education and training programs are arranged according to these principles. In our age where science and technology are changing rapidly, the economic and social change process, which is accelerating, creates new and different business areas in public and private sector institutions, and there is a need for well-trained, qualified and constantly renewing human resources in these fields. Being aware of this, our faculty constantly develops and updates its programs according to the changing needs of the day.

Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a minimum graduation degree from foreign faculties or colleges which are at least four years in Turkey and equivalent to the Higher Education Council (YÖK). In addition, they must meet the additional requirements set by the Institute and Institute Administrative Board and approved by the Senate.
Higher Grade Transition
Graduates of master's degree students can apply to doctorate programs related to their master's degree.
Graduation Requirements
The students have to complete the program with a GPA of at least 2,00 out of 4,00 and to have 120 ECTS credits in adition to a thesis that must be defended in front of a jury.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
After graduating from this program, the students can work as a banker, auditor, investment consulter, certified public accountant, researcher etc., can teach accounting or finance. For some working areas additional certificates may be needed.
Assessment and Grading
Each student must register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and must attend at least 70% of the courses in order to take the final exam. Students are subjected to at least one midterm exam, final exam and unsuccessful students take a make-up exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam to the success grade is 50% and the contribution of the final exam is 50%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Semester final grade is required to be at least 75 for each course. Students who get one of the letter grades (AA), (BA), (BB) and (CB) in a course are deemed to have succeeded in that course.
