About Programme

The purpose of the Accounting and Financial Management doctoral program is to train individuals who are equipped with basic knowledge, methods and techniques in the field of accounting and finance, have the ability to think analytically, can make the right decisions at the institutional level, and have a broad perspective. For this purpose, care has been taken to deal with accounting and finance issues in an integrated manner in the curriculum and to ensure a balanced distribution between the two fields.

History
As a young and dynamic higher education and training institution on the national development path, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, which is within the body of Süleyman Demirel University, was established in 1992 and became operational on February 25, 1993. In the 1993-1994 academic year, the Department of Business Administration started education. In 1997, the department had its first graduates.
Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration, as in the same type of Faculties in our country; It aims to educate people who are useful to the society and to increase their knowledge and skill level. For this purpose, it has been taken into account that students gain knowledge and skills in a wide-ranging field of social science, in which they can improve themselves and specialize in various subjects, and education and training programs are arranged according to these principles. In our age where science and technology are changing rapidly, the economic and social change process, which is accelerating, creates new and different business areas in public and private sector institutions, and there is a need for well-trained, qualified and constantly renewing human resources in these fields. Being aware of this, our faculty constantly develops and updates its programs according to the changing needs of the day.

Admission Requirements
In order to apply to the PhD program, the candidates; must have a master's degree with a thesis and have received at least 55 points from ALES in the point type of the program they are applying for. In the admission of students to the doctorate program, it is obligatory to get at least 55 points from the international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent to the central foreign language exams accepted by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) other than their mother tongue, or an equivalent score from the international foreign language exams whose equivalence is accepted by OSYM, and these minimum scores will be entered. According to the characteristics of the programs, it is decided by the university senates to upgrade if necessary.

Graduation Requirements
PhD program; It consists of a total of 21 credits and 240 ECTS credits for the student accepted with a master's degree, at least seven compulsory and elective courses stipulated by the EABD presidency, two seminar courses, one of which is during the semester, a specialization course, a proficiency exam and thesis work. It consists of at least 16 courses stipulated by the EABD presidency, two seminar courses, one of which is in the course period, specialization course, proficiency exam and thesis, provided that it is not less than 300 ECTS credits for the student accepted with a bachelor's degree. In order for the student to be able to enter the proficiency exam, the weighted grade point average must be at least 2.50, provided that he/she is successful in all the courses taken, and the student who has been accepted with a master's degree must succeed at least 60 ECTS credits including a seminar course, and the student who has been accepted with a bachelor's degree must complete a seminar. Must pass at least 120 ECTS credits including the course. After successfully completing the period determined by the Institute during the thesis period, the student whose thesis is accepted graduates from the program after the submission of the necessary documents.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
After graduating from this program, the students can work as a banker, auditor, investment consulter, certified public accountant, researcher etc., can teach accounting or finance. For some working areas additional certificates may be needed.
Assessment and Grading
Each student must register for the courses at the beginning of the semester and must attend at least 70% of the courses in order to take the final exam. Students are subjected to at least one midterm exam, final exam and unsuccessful students take a make-up exam for each course. The contribution of the midterm exam to the success grade is 50% and the contribution of the final exam is 50%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Semester final grade is required to be at least 75 for each course. Students who get one of the letter grades (AA), (BA), (BB) and (CB) in a course are deemed to have succeeded in that course.
