About Programme

Süleyman Demirel University (SDU) Chemical Engineering Department was established in 2008. The undergraduate program was opened in the 2011-2012 academic year. OUR VISION: To be a respected and continuously developing education and research institution at national and international level. 



OUR MISSION: SDU Department of Chemical Engineering "To train Chemical Engineers who have the ability to access information and use the latest technology in order to meet the current and future demands of the industry and society, and to carry out research studies on the problems of the industry by developing undergraduate and graduate programs in this direction, and as a result of these researches. It aims to transfer the emerging scientific data to the industry. 



Educational Objectives of the Chemical Engineering Program In a few years after graduation, 



Süleyman Demirel University Chemical Engineering Department graduates; 



1. To be directed to research and development activities, to be able to take part in regional, national and international projects carried out in the advanced technological fields of chemical engineering, 



2. To be prone to interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary teamwork and to take a leadership role, 



3. To be able to design by defining goals and constraints; Thus, in cooperation with professional and non-governmental organizations, it will be able to bring innovative solutions to engineering problems and contribute to the development of the industry in priority areas; and/or freelance engineering services, 



4. To be able to communicate in visual, written, verbal and electronic media in Turkish and English at an advanced level, , 



6. Since they adopt the principle of lifelong learning, they are engineers who will develop their profession by preserving and improving the gains they have gained in the chemical engineering program. These "Program Educational Objectives" are supported by mechanisms such as educational plans, vocational internships, project competitions, seminars, extracurricular activities and institutional contributions; It is evaluated every 6 years through interviews and surveys with employers, industry and professional chambers. 



At the meeting of the Higher Education Executive Board on 21.12.2011, it was deemed appropriate to open the Departments of Chemical Technologies, Process and Reactor Design, Basic Operations and Thermodynamics in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Currently, studies are carried out in three departments in our department. - Department of Chemical Technologies - Department of Process and Reactor Design - Department of Basic Operations and Thermodynamics 



 



 


History
Süleyman Demirel University (SDU) Chemical Engineering Department was established in 2008. The undergraduate program was opened in the 2011-2012 academic year. Master's degree was started in 2014 and doctorate education was started in 2022.

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering First Cycle (Bachelor?s Degree).EQF-LLL - Level 6
Admission Requirements
Students must comply with the legal and academic requirements to access the studies in the Süleyman Demirel University according to the process established by the ÖSYM (Higher Education Council Student Selection and Placement Centre) regulations. Students who have started studies in other universities within or outside of the country may apply for their recognition. The recognition record is unique for each student and therefore the procedure is carried out accordingly before the start of each academic year. More information about general admission requirements can be found in the catalogue of Information on the Institution. Under an established exchanges program or one approved by the University, exchange students from abroad may be accepted for studies on the courses taught in English. Or, if they are confident in Turkish, they may then enrol any courses, running in Turkish, shown on the ?Course Structure? diagram.
Higher Grade Transition
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in graduate programs in their field or related fields, provided that they get valid scores from ALES or equivalent exams and have sufficient foreign language knowledge.
Graduation Requirements
The student must have completed all the courses in the program and must not have an FF or FD grade. In this program, the student must provide a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. There is an internship obligation of 50 working days in total, 25 working days of which are laboratory and 25 working days are production.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Chemical Engineering is a basic engineering branch, and it is a profession that is needed in almost all production processes today. Chemical engineers, who have a wide range of work in the public and private sectors, can work in all kinds of factory enterprises, research and development units, technical service, sales and marketing areas, technical and administrative tasks, as well as they have the opportunity to produce or serve in their own private enterprises. . Areas where chemical engineers can work include petrochemistry, paint, plastic, paper, detergent, glass, cement, sugar, fertilizer, etc. industries can be counted.
