About Programme
Kimya lisans programı, maddelerin yapısını, özelliklerini ve dönüşümlerinin yanında enerjinin de tüm değişim ve etkileşimlerini anlamaya yönelik bilgi ve becerileri kazandırmayı amaçlar. Program; analitik kimya, anorganik kimya, biyokimya, fizikokimya ve organik kimya gibi temel kimya disiplinlerinin yanında bu disiplinleri tamamlayan seçmeli ve uygulamalı dersleri kapsar. Eğitim dili Türkçedir. Misyonumuz; Lisans ve lisansüstü düzeyde yetiştirdiği başarılı öğrenciler ile uluslararası çalışmalar yapabilecek bilgilere sahip, teknolojik gelişmelere ayak uyduran, sorgulayıcı, disiplinlerarası uygulama becerisi kazanmış, etik kuralların bilincinde olan, çevreye duyarlı, girişimci, saygılı bireyler yetiştirmek, kaliteli bilimsel çalışmalar ve araştırmalar yaparak ülkemizin gelişimine katkıda bulunmaktır.
Vizyonumuz; Eğitim, öğretim ve araştırma alanlarında kendini sürekli geliştiren personeliyle bilgi ve tecrübeye sahip bireylerin yetiştirilmesini sağlamak, ulusal ve uluslararası alanda tanınmış, saygın bölümler arasında yer almaktır.

ECTS and Erasmus Coordinator of the Department
History

The Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Süleyman Demirel University was established in 1993. It started accepting its first students as the 1st Formal Education Undergraduate education in 1993 and the 2nd Formal Education was opened in 1994. Education and training continued in both undergraduate programs until 2012 and then the admission of students to the 2nd formal education was stopped this year. Since 2012, students have only been receiving education as the 1st formal education in the department. With the Presidential Decree No. 7477 published in the Official Gazette dated 04.08.2023 and numbered 32269, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of our university was closed, the science departments were incorporated into the Faculty of Engineering and the name of the Faculty of Engineering was changed to Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

Qualification Awarded

Graduates who successfully complete this program receive a "Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry".

Admission Requirements
To be accepted to the program, candidates must have a high school diploma and receive a sufficient score from the score type determined by ÖSYM. In order to be accepted as an international student, candidates must have sufficient equivalent exam (TR-YÖS, etc.) and high school diploma success scores included in the SDÜ associate-undergraduate international student directive.

Higher Grade Transition
Graduates of the program continue their studies in master's and doctoral programs in the field of Chemistry or other branches of science that accept students from this field.

Graduation Requirements
For graduation, students must take courses from the announced undergraduate course program worth a total of 240 ECTS credits and successfully complete the program with a minimum of 2.00 General Grade Point Average (GPA) and successfully complete a total of 30 working days of internship.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates work as chemists in chemical industries, pharmaceutical companies, textile, food, cosmetics, polymer and paper sectors, environmental laboratories and research centers. Students who receive pedagogical formation training can also work as teachers.

The measurement and evaluation methods for each course are determined by the relevant faculty members. Evaluations are made in accordance with the university regulations
