About Programme
|
The Department of Physics, in close relationship with other departments, teaches the basic concepts of physics, shows how many concepts and theories are derived from experimental studies, gives students research skills, and trains international scientists who can conduct original and advanced research in contemporary physics and its applications in high technology. . In the Physics Department, an advanced education in all areas of physics is provided in modern laboratories, computer-aided, emphasizing the creativity of the student. For this purpose; Mechanics, Electricity, Optics, Atomic and Molecular Physics, Quantum and Electronics laboratories have been prepared for our students. Our students increase their knowledge and experience with new arrangements by repeating the subjects they see theoretically in the lessons in a unique way in the laboratory environment and revealing their own creativity. Our graduates, who have completed their 4-year undergraduate education and earned the title of "Physicist", can work as physicists in the field of R&D (research and development units) of the industry, in various private and state institutions and organizations, or they can also participate in scientific life by participating in graduate programs if they wish.

Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Physics was established in 1992 and started education with its first students in the 1993-1994 academic year. Our aim as Physics Department is; To teach the basic concepts of physics in close relationship with other departments, to show how many concepts and theories are derived from experimental studies, to equip students with researcher skills, to train international scientists who can conduct original and advanced research in contemporary physics and its applications in high technology. In the Physics Department, an advanced education in all areas of physics is provided in modern laboratories, computer-aided, emphasizing the creativity of the student. Qualification Awarded
|
First Cycle (Bachelor?s Degree).This is a first cycle degree program in Physics (240 ECTS).

Students, who wish to enroll in this program, must comply with the legal and academic requirements which are established by the YÖK (Higher Education Council) regulations. Higher Grade Transition

Upon a successful completion of the program, student may continue with MSci study in the same or similar scientific areas, which accept students from Physics Department.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates with the title of physicist; academician, taking part in private or public research and development, participating in postgraduate studies in the country or abroad after Physics education, taking part in study groups for research and development in non-physics disciplines.

Assessment and Grading
|
Exams are held in accordance with Süleyman Demirel University Associate and Undergraduate Education, Training and Examination Regulations. Measurement and evaluation are carried out in accordance with the legislation mentioned in the SDU Associate and Undergraduate Education, Training and Examination Regulations.
