About Programme
The Biology Undergraduate Program aims to provide students with the basic principles, theories and applied knowledge of biological sciences. The program aims to develop students' problem-solving, research and scientific thinking skills by providing an understanding of biological processes. Graduates will have the competence to produce solutions to environmental, health and biotechnological problems by applying the knowledge and skills they have acquired in the field of biology in different sectors.

History
The Department of Biology at Süleyman Demirel University was established in 1992. It started education with its first students in the 1993-1994 period. Our department, which carried out education and training activities within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences until 2023, merged with the Faculty of Engineering as of 2023 and continues education and training under the name of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive a "Biology Undergraduate Diploma".

Admission Requirements
Acceptance to the program is based on high school diploma and Higher Education Institutions Examination results.

Higher Grade Transition
Graduates can apply to master's and doctoral programs in biology or related disciplines.

Graduation Requirements
For graduation: • Completion of a total of 240 ECTS credits consisting of compulsory and elective courses, • Success in all courses.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Biology Undergraduate Program graduates: 1. Work in academic research institutions. 2. Work as biology teachers in educational institutions. 3. Employed in the biotechnology, health, pharmaceutical, cosmetics and food industries. 4. Work in the agricultural and environmental management sectors. 5. Work in biological analysis and research projects in public institutions. 6. Work in environmental protection and natural resource management projects. 7. Work in forensic medicine, genetics, microbiology and biochemistry laboratories.

Assessment and Grading
The examination and evaluation methods of the courses in the program are specified in detail in the course information package. Evaluation may include written exams, project presentations, laboratory reports and other performance-based measurement methods. All processes are carried out in accordance with the university's education-training regulations.
