History

Our department started to receive undergraduate students in 2006-2007 academic year. Our department carries out academic activities in the Departments of Statistics and Operations. In the 2007-2008 academic year, students started to be admitted to the ‘Master's Degree with Thesis in Econometrics’ programme. In 2019-2020 academic year, ‘Financial Econometrics Master's Degree Programme without Thesis’ was opened. Our department has 3 Professors, 2 Associate Professors, 3 Assistant Professors and 3 Research Assistants. There are 243 actively enrolled students in our department, which has graduated 1192 students since its establishment.

Qualification Awarded
|
First Cycle (Bachelor’s Degree).This part is liable to 240 ECTS first level degree system in the field of Ekonometrics.

Admission Requirements
|
Students who would like to enroll in the department, within the framework of academic and legal regulations of the university, must complete/pass all processes/exams set by OSYM. Students, who are studying in an equivalent program at home or abroad, can apply for undergraduate transfer. Every student’s conditions and degree he/she applied are taken into consideration, examined and evaluated specifically. Please see Institution’s Introduction Catalogue for more information.

Higher Grade Transition
|
After completing the program successfully, student can apply MA and PhD degrees both in the field of Econometrics and related other disciplines.

Graduation Requirements
|
In order to get the degree/complete the program, there is no special end of term exams or finals after completing the program or in the end of academic year. However, there are two week final exams following the end of each semester.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates; They are employed at various management levels of ministries, Inspection Boards, District Governor's Office, Court of Accounts, State Economic Enterprises and their inspection boards, State Planning Organization and various levels in the private sector. In addition, there are academic job opportunities for students participating in master's and doctoral programs.

Assessment and Grading
|
The final grade for each course is determined by taking 40% of the midterm exam score and 60% of the final exam score. Success conditions and evaluation criteria of each course are included in ECTS information packages.
