About Programme

The program has a compulsory course ratio of 75% and an elective course ratio of 25%. Elective courses are chosen from the university's common elective course pool and the elective courses of the department. The program is an applied department in the field of health sciences. Clinical field applications are carried out within the scope of compulsory main applied courses starting from the first year. The education program consists of compulsory and elective courses in addition to the main courses each semester, and the aim of the program is to train nurses who are employed as nurses in national and international health care fields, who continue their professional development by adopting lifelong learning as a principle in order to fulfill the roles and functions of nursing, and who meet the health care needs of individuals, families and society by using evidence-based practices in line with professional ethical principles.

History
The Department of Nursing first started education and training in 1994 within the Isparta Health Services Vocational School. Later, it continued its education process in the Isparta Health School, which was opened in 1996, and has been continuing its education and training process within the Faculty of Health Sciences since 2009. The mission of our department is to train researchers, educators, practitioners, managers and leader nurses who can evaluate the health care needs of the country in line with contemporary approaches with qualified undergraduate and graduate education programs, and who can provide health-promoting, preventive, curative and rehabilitative nursing care to individuals, families and society. The vision of our department is to be an educational institution that sets a model and is preferred at national and international levels with its students, faculty members, education programs and research; and trains creative and reliable nurses who can use the requirements of the science and art of nursing at the highest level in meeting the health care needs of the society. Each year of the undergraduate programs in the Department of Nursing of Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Health Sciences consists of two semesters. A semester is 14 weeks. There is also a summer school program in our faculty. Students who successfully complete the 4-year undergraduate program are awarded a Bachelor's Degree and the title of Nurse. The philosophy of our department focuses on the beliefs and principles that form the basis for providing a holistic approach to the family, society and the individual, which envisages cooperation with other members of the health team. Our department has 2 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 11 Assistant Professors, 3 Lecturers, and 8 Research Assistants. In addition, there is a Department of Fundamentals of Nursing, a Master's Program in Internal Medicine Nursing, Public Health Nursing, and Surgical Diseases Nursing, and a Master's and Doctorate Program in Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing.

Graduation Requirements
Successfully completing 8 semesters of core compulsory/elective courses, meeting the 240 ECTS criterion, and having a GPA of at least 2.0.

Our graduates have employment opportunities in the private sector as well as in many public institutions and organizations. In addition, he/she has the opportunity to work as an academic in relevant fields at universities.
Assessment and Grading
The traditional and complementary measurement and evaluation tools to be used for each course are defined in the "Course Teaching Plan" prepared by the relevant faculty member/s and included in the information package. Regarding the exams and course success grades, the relevant articles of the Süleyman Demirel University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulations are applied.
