About Programme
Süleyman Demirel University Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is a 4-year undergraduate program.The department of education, research and consultancy activities carried out within the framework of four main branches of science: nutritional sciences, dietetics, and community nutrition and food service systems.The first stage of the vocational education and training program includes basic sciences, medical, and nutritional sciences, which are the basis of dietetic practices. The courses in the second stage are directly related to the field of practice.

History
Dietitians are health professionals who have successfully completed at least a 4-year Nutrition and Dietetics program and are entitled to practice and practice this profession by obtaining the “Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics” and the title of “Dietitian”. Dietitian is the only authorized professional group that knows food and nutrition in the best way, investigates and evaluates health problems arising from food and nutrition, informs and raises awareness of the society about adequate and balanced nutrition, plans, educates, implements and monitors medical nutrition therapy programs in accordance with other medical treatments in diseases and other special cases. The aim of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics is to protect and improve health and to contribute to society by conducting studies and research in this field in order to raise awareness of adequate and balanced nutrition in society. In our department, there are 1 professor, 2 associate professors, 1 assistant professor and 4 research assistant pHd. The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was opened in 2012 and started to admit students in the 2024-2025 academic year.

Qualification Awarded
Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and earn the title of dietitian.

Admission Requirements
Students who graduated from high school or equivalent vocational high schools and have received sufficient numerical scores in the University Selection and Placement Exams are accepted to the Nutrition and Dietetics Undergraduate Program.

Higher Grade Transition
The graduates holding Bachelor's Degree are eligible to apply to Master's Degree programmes at national level and /or international level both in the same and in related disciplines

Graduation Requirements
In order for students to graduate, they must have earned 240 ECTS by completing all courses in 8 semesters.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates can work as a clinical dietician or administrative dietician in hospitals, as an executive dietician or community health dietician in various public institutions and organizations, in the food industry, in individual diet consultancy and training centers and / or can be employed as academicians.

Assessment and Grading
Exams, evaluation and grading are carried out in accordance with the 'Süleyman Demirel University Associate and Undergraduate Education-Teaching and Examination Regulation'. The measurement and evaluation method applied for each course is defined in the ECTS course information package prepared by the relevant faculty members.
