About Programme

Visual Communication Design Undergraduate Program aims to train qualified and creative individuals in today's world where communication technologies are changing rapidly. The program develops aesthetic sensitivity, critical thinking skills and creative problem solving skills, starting from basic theories and concepts in the field of visual communication design and mass media broadcasting. It contributes to the professional development of students by offering a wide range of courses such as digital arts, visual environment analysis, the use of visual technologies in communication and social responsibility projects.

History
The Department of Visual Communication Design (VCD), within the Faculty of Communication at Süleyman Demirel University, aims to equip young individuals with the communication skills and competencies required by emerging national and international new media technologies. The department supports this goal through both theoretical and practical courses.

The VCD Department admitted its first students in the 2020-2021 academic year and operates under the same name as an academic discipline. The department's academic staff includes one Professor, three Associate Professors, one Assistant Professor, one Lecturer, and one Research Assistant.

Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete this program are awarded “Bachelor's Degree in Visual Communication Design”.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the program is based on high school diploma and Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) results. Other conditions determined by the university apply.
Higher Grade Transition
Graduates can apply to master's and doctoral programs in visual communication design and related fields.
Graduation Requirements
•Completion of a total of 240 ECTS credits consisting of compulsory and elective courses,
•Successful completion of all courses,
•Other graduation requirements of the university must be fulfilled.

Graduates of the Visual Communication Design Bachelor's Program:

1. Work as designers and art directors in advertising agencies.
2. Serve as visual design specialists in the publishing industry.
3. Work as designers in the digital media and gaming sectors.

Assessment and Grading
The assessment methods for courses are detailed in the course information packages. Evaluations may include project presentations, theoretical and practical exams, workshop activities, and reporting. All procedures are conducted in accordance with the university's education and training regulations.
