About Programme

Turkish Language Teacher Education Department was opened within the scope of Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education in the 2018-2019 academic year. Currently, there are 2 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, and approximately 300 students in the department. The department aims to train teachers who are competent in their field, competent in their profession and sensitive to social and cultural issues.

History
Turkish Teaching Undergraduate Program was opened in the 2018-2019 academic year within the scope of Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education.
Qualification Awarded
Graduates who successfully complete this program receive a "Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Diploma".
Admission Requirements
Students are accepted to higher education through an exam based on the YKS. The exam is held once a year and is organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Candidates can enter higher education institutions with the Verbal score type, which is formed by combining the score they receive from the YKS and their secondary school success score average.
Higher Grade Transition
Undergraduate students can continue their graduate education.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the Turkish Language Teaching Undergraduate Program;
- 240 ECTS credits must be completed.
- It is necessary to be successful in all courses and practices.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Students who graduate from a bachelor's degree continue their postgraduate education. Students who graduate from this program work as Turkish teachers in official and private educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. They also work as academicians in the relevant departments of universities.
Assessment and Grading
The success grade of a course is determined according to the relative evaluation method determined by the Senate. According to the relative assessment method, in order to determine the success grade of a student in a course, first of all, the raw grade is calculated by taking into account the contributions of the midterm exam and, if any, other educational activities and semester/end exams, as in the absolute assessment method. This grade is considered a raw grade out of 100 in the evaluation method. Raw grades out of 100 for all students are adapted to the letter system or the 4-point system accepted by the Senate, taking into account the general success level of the class, the distribution of grades, class average and/or standard deviation.
