About Programme

Mathematics Department Master's Program consists of at least 7 courses, a seminar course and thesis studies, with a total of not less than 120 ECTS for students who have been accepted with a bachelor's degree.



The main purpose of the program is to provide a graduate education and training to raise researchers who will contribute to science and technology at national and international level and can apply original scientific studies to real world problems.



At Süleyman Demirel University, Graduate School of National and Applied Sciences, Department of Mathematics; postgraduate research is carried out in the fields of Analysis and Theory of Functions, Algebra and Number Theory, Geometry, Topology and Applied Mathematics. The language of the program is Turkish.

History
Süleyman Demirel University is a state university that was established in 1992 and completed its institutionalization in the past. Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Department of Mathematics started its graduate education on 26.03.2013. Graduate studies are carried out in many sub-departments of our department and many graduate students are trained. Master's programs are offered in the following sub-departments.
1. Algebra and Number Theory
2. Analysis and Theory of Functions
3. Geometry
4. Topology
5. Applied Mathematics

Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete this program have a Master's degree.
Admission Requirements

Higher Grade Transition
Students who graduate from this program can apply to study in PhD programs.
Graduation Requirements
The master's program with thesis consists of at least seven compulsory and/or elective courses as stipulated by the institute department head, a seminar course, thesis work and, if selected, specialization field courses, provided that it is not less than 120 ECTS credits. In order to pass the thesis stage, the student of the master's program with thesis must have a weighted grade point average of at least 2.00, provided that he/she has been successful in all courses he/she has taken, and must have succeeded at least 60 ECTS credits including the seminar course.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who successfully complete the Master's program in the Department of Mathematics can work as an academician. They can also work in research and development departments in relevant public and private companies.

The student's final grade is evaluated by the instructor with one of the following letter grades for each course taken:

Seminar and specialization courses are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful and are not included in the weighted grade point average.
Thesis work are evaluated with a success grade and are not included in the weighted grade point average.
